Ledger / Our own product, in active development

For
Freelancers and small businesses in the Netherlands
Covers
From the first quote to the VAT overview

Bank statements in CAMT.053 and MT940

Most bookkeeping tools assume you already think like an accountant. Ledger starts from what you actually do: send a quote, send an invoice, get paid, file your VAT.

What Ledger does today

Everything listed here is built and working. New parts are added continuously.

Getting paid

  • Quotes that become invoices

An accepted quote turns into an invoice with one click.

  • Invoices as PDF

With 21%, 9% and 0% VAT calculated per line.

  • Recurring invoices

Monthly, quarterly or yearly, created automatically.

  • Payment reminders

Send a reminder for an overdue invoice in one click.

Keeping the books

  • Expenses with receipts

Record a cost and attach the receipt as PDF or photo.

  • Bank statement import

Upload a statement and payments are matched to invoices and expenses.

  • Customers and suppliers

With KVK number, VAT number, IBAN and payment term.

Knowing where you stand

  • Dashboard

Revenue, expenses, open and overdue invoices at a glance.

  • VAT per quarter

The amounts you need for your VAT return, per rate.

  • Reports

Profit and loss, balance sheet and general ledger, with CSV export.

Working together

  • Roles

Owner, administrator, accountant, employee or read-only.

  • Two-step sign-in

    With an authenticator app.

  • Several businesses

Switch between organisations from one account.

From quote to VAT return

  1. Send a quote

Draft it, send it, see when it is accepted.

  2. Invoice it

The quote becomes an invoice. The bookkeeping entry is made for you.

  3. Match the payment

Import your bank statement and the invoice is marked as paid.

  4. File your VAT

Open the quarter and read off the amounts.
